When the weather is too hot or too cold, you can always stay at home safe from the extreme outside temperatures snuggled up with your loved one. Unfortunately, if you have a full beard, you understand the pain that you and your partner might feel trying to get just a little closer. Beard burn is truly an unfortunate incident and turns any to-be fun experiences for your partner into one that feels like they have just been through hell. It is due to the friction caused by the beard on the skin, leading to a burning sensation that is genuinely uncomfortable.

That said, things do not have to be like this all the time. There are plenty of things you can do to help your partner avoid beard burn:

1. Wear a mask

If your partner has extremely sensitive skin, consider having them wear a mask. Of course, if you want to kiss, make sure that mask is a face hole so that your lips can still touch. It may look and feel a little weird at first, but once you find out just how much you can do without the fear of beard burns, you will find it to be an extremely effective solution. After all, you can always remove the mask when you do not need it anymore.

2. Care for the beard

If you want to avoid anything that will impair your ability to see your partner's beautiful face, then give your beard some love. This includes cleaning it thoroughly with beard wash, followed by some conditioning to keep it soft. Keeping it moist with some beard oil will also reduce the friction it will cause, reducing beard burn significantly.

3. Stand a little further

Imagine yourself standing a little too far from your partner before touching lips. It is as if you are puckering up to kiss. This is what we mean when we say that you should stand a little further if you two decide to get closer. This way, you limit beard contact, which can help reduce the chance of beard burns happening.

4. Consider getting rid of the beard

If all else fails, consider getting rid of the beard. Whether it is as long enough to be mistaken for Santa Clause's beard or tiny stubbles that prickle the skin, they all can cause beard burns. Getting rid of the beard is ultimately the sure-fire way to ensure beard burn does not happen at all. However, we understand that it can be a little traumatic to remove your beard, so consider this option as a last resort.

All these tips can help significantly reduce beard burn, which your partner might appreciate. If beard burn is truly unavoidable and none of the above tips are helping, you can implement damage control strategies to reduce the pain. Use products like milk cleansers and moisturizers that offer gentle cleansing for the skin or soothing gels to reduce irritation. This helps reduce the pain of beard burn without forcing you to get rid of your beard.
